On December 22, the opening ceremony for the business of AUA-TRDP beneficiary Mr. Vahagn Torosyan took place with a red ribbon cutting ceremony. The opening of the car wash business was a real celebration in Nor Kyank. Mr. Arshak Evinyan, an entrepreneur who applied to the Turpanjian rural development program of the American University of Armenia to develop his entrepreneurial skills, received financial assistance to establish an accessories store in his own community of Ayrum, in the Tavush region. He is already completing the construction of the store and will start operations in a few weeks!
Mr. Evinyan told the TRDP chair, Dr. Haroutune Armenian and other staff, about the developments in his business when they visited the beneficiary. Mr. Evinyan completed the construction of the ground, the walls, the second floor, and the roof. He also already installed the doors and windows of the store. Continue reading →
On November 2, one more AUA-TRDP beneficiary, along with the TRDP team, hosted the grand opening of his newly established cheese production factory called, “Arevashogh,” which means, “sunshine,” with a red ribbon cutting ceremony in one of the remote villages of Armenia, Berdashen in the Shirak region. Berdashen is a small village in Armenia’s North-West that borders both Turkey & Georgia. It is a small village with only 62 households.
Many guests from the community, the TRDP chair, Dr. Haroutune Armenian, the TRDP staff, and others participated in the opening ceremony.
Mr. Chapanyan’s cheese factory adds a lot of value to the village. Arevashogh is of strategic importance for the small and isolated village of Berdashen. Mr. Chapanyan’s business created five (5) new jobs. Continue reading →

On April 12, one of successful TRDP beneficiaries Kamo Hambaryan (Fish breeding, Rest Zone), with the support of TRDP Shirak Program Leader Zorair Kirakosyan, organized a tree-planting ceremony next to his business premises in Bazum village to commemorate 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
