Another TRDP supported business opened in Shirak marz, Armenia

Another AUA Turpanjian rural development program supported business has been established in one of the rural communities of Shirak marz. On October 23, the opening ceremony for the business of AUA-TRDP beneficiary, Mr. Gagik Simonyan, took place with a red ribbon cutting ceremony. With AUA-TRDP support, Mr. Gagik Simonyan opened a café-bistro in Saralanj village of Shirak marz, creating three new jobs.

According to Mr. Simonyan, they were trying to “make a difference” by using pragmatic and innovative approaches and they hope to receive positive word of mouth advertising throughout the region.

Using advice received during TRDP mentoring programs, Mr. Gagik Simonyan was able to create the required infrastructural base, including a fresh and friendly design and sanitary-hygienic conditions, that is, maintaining the business premises at a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.

With AUA-TRDP’s support, Mr. Simonyan acquired knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship, received a business loan and successfully opened his business.

This is the second time that Mr. Simonyan applied to the program. In 2014, he applied to AUA-TRDP for the first time, underwent necessary trainings in financial management, high quality customer care, and getting a business loan, opened a retail store near Yerevan-Artik Highway in Saralanj village.

Mr. Simonyan thanked TRDP for its continued assistance throughout the years that have allowed him to develop his community and provide quality services to villagers and passersby.
